Step aboard,

dive into science

Bonnie Lass invites you on an expedition for the ocean’s future,

At Bonnie Lass Expeditions, we invite you to step aboard not just for a charter, but to become a scientist for a day. It’s where vintage charm and hands-on marine science meet, letting you join in vital scientific work while enjoying the atmosphere of a lovingly restored 1949 Scottish fishing boat. Every guest becomes part of a living, breathing marine adventure, contributing to real scientific work while soaking in the incredible coastline of the Tramontana Mountains.

In the afternoon, we’ll anchor in a beautiful cove, bring out the paddleboards, and you’ll have time to swim, snorkel, and relax. It’s the perfect blend of learning, great food, local flavors, and the leisurely pace of the Mediterranean. And remember, your ticket funds the science and your participation helps protect the sea. These vital projects to understand and safeguard the incredible ecosystem of Mallorca’s north coast are only possible with your help. Come join us and be part of the team!

Working alongside organisations such as Shark Med and Save the Med, you’ll take part in meaningful scientific work designed to help monitor, understand, and protect the marine ecosystems along Mallorca’s spectacular Tramuntana coastline. Whether you’re a solo traveller looking for a unique adventure, a family wanting a more meaningful day on the water, or a team of colleagues seeking something inspiring and different, we offer a chance to be part of something that truly matters.

Every guest becomes part of a living, breathing marine adventure — contributing to real scientific work while soaking in one of the most dramatic and beautiful coastlines in the Mediterranean.

Why this matters?

Your contribution doesn’t just pay for a fantastic day on the water. Your ticket funds the science. Your participation helps protect the sea.

Every expedition directly supports ongoing scientific projects that aim to better understand, conserve, and protect the fragile marine ecosystems of Mallorca’s north coast — especially in proposed protected areas where high-quality data is vital.

These projects are only possible with the support of people like you.
Come join us and be part of the team!

Your Day Aboard

Morning: Science, Exploration & Purpose

Your day begins with hands-on marine science guided by experienced researchers and our crew. Depending on the project running that day, you might:

  • Deploy underwater cameras or BRUV systems

  • Take part in species monitoring

  • Collect water samples for monitoring micro plastics

  • Record marine-use data in proposed protected areas

  • Observe wildlife and help identify key behaviours

  • Assist with coastline or habitat surveys

You are not just watching — you’re contributing.

Lunchtime: Local, Seasonal & Cooked Onboard

After the morning’s science, we gather for a beautifully prepared lunch cooked onboard by our chef, Christina.
Expect:

  • Local, seasonal ingredients sourced from Mallorca

  • A simple, elegant menu

  • Local wines from our favourite vineyards

  • A relaxed, open-deck dining experience

It’s the perfect moment to unwind, chat, and enjoy the flavours of the island.

Afternoon: Swim, Snorkel, Paddle & Relax

In the afternoon we anchor in one of our favourite coves along the Tramuntana coast. This is your time to enjoy the Mediterranean at its best.

You can:

  • Swim in crystal-clear water

  • Snorkel over rocky reefs

  • Explore on paddleboards

  • Try the rope swing if you’re feeling bold

  • Or simply relax on deck and take it all in

It’s not all science — it’s a balanced, beautiful day of learning, eating, adventuring, and relaxing.
